Thank you for the interesting eating utensils. Jim used the spoon this morning to eat his breakfast cereal. It made the task much easier. I had ordered adaptive eating utensils for him but they did not work nearly as well. Thanks again! We enjoyed yesterday’s gathering. Jim liked the tai chi and we hope to try the class on Wed.

I just wanted to say what a great event you all put on today. The passion and commitment you and all the board members present exhibited was evident throughout the event. I’m thrilled to be a small part of your organization serving the local Parkinson’s community. Thank you for including me today. For your members the only Wednesday that there will be no Tai Chi will be on August 7th.

May husband Randy passed away from Parkinson’s Disease on October 28, 2021. He had been diagnosed in 2015, and shortly after had started classes with Rock Steady Boxing in Greensboro. I believe the classes helped him maintain his strength, improve his emotional wellbeing, and gave him hope. The friendships he made gave him confidence. I am forever grateful for the support and love both my husband and I received. We couldn’t have done it without the support of Hamil Kerr. With the support of HKC, Randy was able to receive physical therapy from ACT by Deese as well. Thank you for all you do and the love you freely give.

It is hard to express how much the Hamil-Kerr Foundation has impacted our lives. My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's three years ago. Since then, he has been extremely focused on doing everything he can do to limit his Parkinson's progression. A friend told him about the programs offered by HKC and he has participated in every online course available and believes that it is making a tremendous difference. We live in Wilmington, NC and are not able to attend the classes in person, or participate in the HKC, but he regularly attends the excellent Strength Training and the Rock Steady Boxing, offered on Zoom.
Hamil-Kerr Challenge founders and instructors care about making a difference in the lives of the people they reach, and it is evident. Their compassion and guidance in all areas that affect their participants is both respected and cherished. We are so grateful to benefit from their knowledge and dedication.

I want the world to know what a wonderful service HKC is providing for those of us with Parkinson’s Disease. I was diagnosed in 2016, roughly. I immediately began Power Up classes in Wilmington NC and really enjoyed them. Still do. But felt I needed something more and that’s when I heard about Hamil Kerr Challenge and the Zoom classes provided by a certified boxing instructor from a fellow friend with Parkinson's. I contacted the coach and she welcomed me to join immediately and I never looked back. Her classes are incredible. They are a full workout and she cuts us no slack! It is very obvious how much preparation goes into her lessons and how devoted she is to the program. If I miss a class my week is less than it should be. I hope HKC understands what a life changing service you provide. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Chris is 69 years old and has had PD for the past ten years. He works out with Prince at ACT twice each week. He comes to the gym “dragging” but with this workout he has a better gate, less stumbling when he walks, his posture improves, and he is more alert. The benefits last a couple of days.
Dave is an active 78 year old who was diagnosed with PD a little over two years ago. He works out at the Spears YMCA in Greensboro and participates in the cycling class. He states that he is “drained” when he leaves but knows the cardiovascular benefits of exercising. Before starting the class he would stumble while walking and would often need to lean on his wife for stability. The program has helped him see that his balance has drastically improved.
Jim is 71 and was diagnosed with PD two years ago. He is very proactive and exercises as much as he can. He attends the cycling class at the Ragsdale YMCA which is offered twice each week. Before class he often feels stiff, tired, and doesn’t want to go. Afterwards he is refreshed, accomplished and his muscles are more toned. He says the class has also helped him become more social and outgoing. He said he’s been “waiting for this a long time”.
